da gbg bet: Former Southampton captain Adam Lallana was sent off for violent conduct as Liverpool’s U23 side faced their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts on Monday night, and Saints fans believe that the midfielder may miss out on a place in the squad when his current club travel to St Mary’s in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 29-year-old grabbed Spurs’ George Marsh from behind by the neck following an aerial challenge just afterthe hour-mark, and he was shown a straight red card by the referee.
The England international was playing in the game as he continues to step up his match fitness following his return from injury, but while The Independent says he won’t face a ban for first-team matches the St Mary’s faithful obviously feel that Jurgen Klopp may not choose to pick him following his disappointing reaction.
Southampton supporters were quick to have their say on Lallana via social media, and while one said he’s “bottled it again then”, another said “after that I don’t see him playing for a while”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
