da supremo: West Ham star Manuel Lanzini has provided a positive injury update to fans on his Instagram story, as reported by Football.London.
What’s the word?
da bet sport: Manuel Lanzini, rated at £18m by Transfermarkt, was issued with a huge blow earlier this year after an ACL injury ruled him out of featuring for Argentina at the World Cup in Russia and also left his plans for the season with West Ham in tatters, as he began a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Lanzini is now three months into his recovery, which is expected to last a total of six months, and posted an injury update on his Instagram story, as reported by Football.London, which showed he had returned to the club after undergoing surgery in Spain.
The Argentine ace could be back doing light jogging and running around the festive season, while he holds aspirations of featuring before the end of the 2018-19 season.
Will he feature this season?
While the signs from Lanzini are positive, he is still a long way away from full fitness and West Ham should not be thinking ahead for his return as he could still experience some setbacks in his recovery – and arguably should not be risked at all this season.

Lanzini’s absence has been clear to see in West Ham’s four defeats so far this season, where the Hammers have failed to create consistent opportunities and have lost the midfield battles in their matches under Manuel Pellegrini.
While the 25-year-old would provide an immediate boost upon his return, the threat of further problems is too great for West Ham to rush him back into the side and Pellegrini should be preparing to be without the influential midfielder for the duration of the campaign.
