The 29-year-old joined Liverpool in 2013 from Chelsea but despite forming a formidable partnership with Luiz Suarez in the 2013/14 season where he scored 21 goals, he has struggled quite a lot with injuries ever since.
The England international though looks to be back to his best this season with four goals in three competitions to his name already, most notably the one against Maurizio Sarri’s side on the weekend.
Liverpool fans have since reacted to the sublime goal that saw Sturridge find the back of the net from 20 yards out in the 89th minute to bring up his half century of goals for Liverpool.
