da blaze casino: Radamel Falcao’s year at Manchester United could hardly be deemed a success; in fact simply saying it was below average is one of the understatements of the century. Once one of the most feared strikers in Europe, a combination of injuries and the effects of old father time have seemingly caught up with the Colombian.
da mrbet: The fact that United initiated a ‘try before you buy’ scheme with the Monaco man probably saves it from being one of the worst transfers in recent memory. Louis van Gaal can send the striker back to the bright lights of Monte Carlo and pretend it was all a bad dream.
However, signing a player with a big name and an even bigger price tag is certainly no guarantee of success. So who could rival Radamel as the most disappointing acquisition in recent years?

Angel Di Maria – Real Madrid to Manchester United (£59m)
Just before United emptied their coffers with the loan signing of Falcao, they had already lightened their wallets with the purchase of Angel Di Maria.
With a British record transfer fee, much was expected of the former Real Madrid man; he signalled a new era at Old Trafford and was expected to almost single-handedly propel them to the league title. Alas, following a positive start his first season in England has been more than a disappointing one.
In the last few months the former Galctico has struggled to dislodge Ashley Young, which is overall quite indicative of his troubles. Although he still has time to turn his United career around, the heavy transfer fee and the relatively small impact mean at this point he is one of the top of the flops.
Roque Santa Cruz – Blackburn to Manchester City (£18m)
Manchester United’s local rivals City, have not always been flush with cash; so with their new found wealth burning a hole in their pocket, they splashed out nearly £20m for the Blackburn man.
In a career spanning nearly 20 years he has managed double figures a grand total of ONE time.
The fact he wasn’t a success is hardly surprising and this one has to go down as one of the most head scratching deals in Premier League history.
Roberto Soldado – Valencia to Tottenham (£29m)
Very rarely has a signing promised so much and offered so painfully little.
Similarly to Falcao, Soldado was once one of the game’s most feared predators, he had a record of better than a goal every other game for Spanish giants Valencia; but since his move to Tottenham he has been lucky to score one every other month.
After finding the net only seven times since his move it seems time for Spurs to cut their losses (and there will be plenty!) and allow the striker to move to pastures new. But this signing will send shivers down Spurs’ spines for centuries to come.
Fernando Torres – Liverpool to Chelsea (£50m)
This is one that surely warrants little explanation. Although he won some trophies and scored THAT goal in Barcelona, from the heights he scaled at Anfield, his comedic performances at Stamford Bridge actually became depressing to watch towards the end of his spell.
His loan move to Atletico Madrid has once again rejuvenated El Nino. But the fact Abramovich paid so much for the Spaniard and his returns were so sparse mean he has to rival Falcao as one of the top flops.
