da realsbet: Arsenal should join the race and try to lure PSG’s Adrien Rabiot to The Emirates. The 23-year-old is reportedly on the radar of a few Premier League clubs including Chelsea – according to recent reports from L’Equipe (via Sport Witness).
What’s the story?
Since breaking onto the scene in 2012, Rabiot has been a regular figure in the PSG team, making 175 appearances and winning 16 trophies, but the Frenchman could be on the move soon with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel, will however try everything to keep Rabiot in Paris. Speaking to RMC (via Football.London), Tuchel was full of praise of the midfielder.
“I really like Adrien, he had a difficult situation when he voluntarily missed the World Cup, but his effort with the team has been maximum, he has not missed any training,” said the German who took over from Unai Emery as PSG boss in May.
Rabiot a perfect fit Arsenal
Having already worked with Rabiot in his time at the helm of PSG, Emery would be making a mistake by not at least considering Rabiot as a possible future option for Arsenal. With Emery still exploring what his best midfield combination will be, the addition of Rabiot could be highly beneficial for both manager and squad, should he join the Gunners next season.
A linkup with either Lucas Torreira or Matteo Guendouzi could ease the problem Emery currently has with Granit Xhaka. The Switzerland international has failed to impress so far this season and could be on the Arsenal bench sooner than he thinks.
Rabiot – who Transfermarkt value at £45million – will offer more consistency in the Arsenal team and has the ability to move forward, while also being solid defensively. For Emery to really secure a midfield partnership that would take Arsenal to the next level, he needs a talent like Rabiot.
