da cassino online: Adam Johnson believes missing out on a place at Euro 2012 was the wake-up call he needed to leave Manchester City. The Mirror reports.
da leao: Johnson could never establish himself as a first-team regular since his £7 million switch from Middlesbrough in January 2010, with 43 of his 82 appearances coming from the bench.
He won both the FA Cup and the Premier League during his time at the club, something which he has claimed was a boyhood dream, but the 25-year-old has prioritised more playing time as opposed to winning medals by moving to the Stadium of Light.
“Not going to the Euros was a big thing. I probably already knew at the end of last season that my time would probably be up. I owed it myself to move on and get games and try and show everyone what I can do again”, he said.
The 25-year-old has 11 caps for England and scored two goals, with Johnson hoping that his move to Sunderland will help to increase his selection prospects in the qualification campaign for the 2014 World Cup.
The midfielder has been included in Roy Hodgson’s squad for the qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine, appearing to be the only natural left-winger.
“The England manager has come out and said he wants his players to be playing regularly, that you can’t sit on the bench forever, so that’s another reason for me to come to Sunderland and hopefully get more games and keep carrying on playing for England. Hopefully I’ll be going to the World Cup in Brazil”, he added.
Sunderland Manager, Martin O’Neill was delighted to secure the services of Johnson and believes the player will further his international ambitions on Wearside.
“He will get the chance to play and prove himself and you would not want to be throwing incredible accolades after one game but he is a joy to watch”, he claimed.
