The Reds’ defence worked hard for their third league clean sheet of the season with Brice Samba keeping them in the game throughout, but it was a tackle from captain Michael Dawson which effectively secured the shutout.
Late on in the match, Mallik Wilks had left central defensive partner Joe Worrall eating the turf, allowing him space for a shot but the 35-year-old was quickly equal to it with a last-ditch block.
Several of the City Ground faithful were left praising the four-time England international.
One supporter claimed it was a ‘match-winning’ block, calling it ‘absolutely magnificent’ while another hoped to see more of that on Tuesday night when Forest face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup third round.
A further member of the Reds fanbase labelled Dawson a hero whilst one more said the block was ‘simply brilliant.’
