da mrbet: West Brom skipper Jake Livermore has heaped praise on their January additions this week as he lauds the impact they have already had amongst the dressing room.
What’s he said?
da blaze casino: Baggies boss Slaven Bilic signed a trio of new players during the final week of the winter transfer window – in came Callum Robinson (loan, Sheffield United), Kamil Grosicki (£800k, Hull City) and Lee Peltier (free, Cardiff City).
The first two are wingers, so the Croatian has bolstered his attacking armoury whilst the latter is primarily a right-back, presumably signed under the pretence that Nathan Ferguson was leaving for Crystal Palace until that fell through.
Speaking in an interview with the official club website, Livermore said:
“We’ve had a boost with the boys we have brought into the building. I think they will be great for us. I think the new lads have been brilliant so far at the club.
“I’ve played against them throughout the years and there’s definitely quality there that will add to our squad. They give us something different which is nice because I find a lot of teams now are trying to nullify our strengths.
“We all need that little lift, added competition and diversity that new faces bring to the club. We’ve got different options now and it gives us confidence, as well as the manager, to know that we can change the style if we have to.”
Jake Livermore, West Brom captain.
Promotion boost
Albion’s promotion push had taken a massive dent in the months of December and January as they endured a run of seven straight league games without a victory.
That was ended last weekend with a 2-0 win over basement boys Luton Town, although only Robinson featured, playing the full 90 minutes at left-wing.
Livermore’s glowing endorsement provides huge encouragement to the final run-in as it’s clear to see that the new signings have already had some sort of impact on the training pitch.
This move from Bilic to strengthen his options could prove to be a masterstroke as it has already evidently given them a fresh spark – most notably seen in Matt Phillips’ performance on Saturday, as outlined here.
Where is he from?! Can you name which obscure countries these famous players have represented?
They will be looking to build some momentum now as they sit one point clear at the top when they head to Millwall this weekend.
And in other news, West Brom given a hint over the financial gain from a Nathan Ferguson summer exit…
